How much clothing do I need?
It is important to have comfortable clothing and shoes that fit properly. It is recommended to have five complete outfit changes in addition to pajamas. A sweater or light jacket is a good idea as well.
Who will be doing the laundry?
Laundry Services are available on-site for no additional charge. If you prefer to have your laundry done by a family member, you will need to bring a container to store the soiled clothing. Please be sure to use a laundry marker to write the first and last name of the resident to be certain all laundry is returned to the correct owner.
What kind of personal items can I bring from home?
You are welcome to bring in items to personalize you living space. It may be pictures of your family, a special quilt or pillow, or perhaps you would like to have your favorite recliner with you. Any type of electrical items such as a lamp or radio will need to be inspected by our maintenance department before being used. If you have any questions about an item, our director of maintenance will be happy to assist you.
Will I need to furnish my own TV during my stay?
If you are here for short-term skilled rehabilitation and residing on our skilled unit, flat screen TV’s are furnished. If you are planning a long term stay, it is recommended to bring a TV that is 19” or under.
What are the visiting hours at Lafayette Pointe?
We have open visiting hours. Please feel free to visit your loved one any time of day or night.
Can I have my family bring my pet in to visit?
Absolutely. Pets that are licensed may visit as long as they are current with all vaccinations and kept on a leash or in a cage.
How does payment work?
Every person’s situation is unique and is discussed with you prior to admission. We accept Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurances. For those paying privately our rates are: $180.00 for a private room, $150.00 for a spacious semi-private room and $155.00 for our Specialized Alzheimer and Dementia Unit.
Can I eat with my loved one?
Yes. We encourage families to be a part of our facility while their loved one stays with us. If you would like to share a meal with your family member, let the staff know and they will notify the dietary department.
How do I set up home services when I am discharged?
Our social services department will make all necessary arrangements for your transition home. If you will need home health services or medical supplies, we will have all the arrangements made before you leave the facility.
