Jeanne's Journey: A Pink Pumpkin Tribute
October 11, 2023
As October blooms in shades of pink, Lafayette Pointe joins the fight against breast cancer for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our residents and staff have painted pumpkins pink, vivid symbols of hope, strength, and unity in the battle against this disease. We proudly honor one of our extraordinary STNAs, Jeanne Everette, who is not only dedicated to her role but is also a breast cancer survivor. Her story embodies resilience and inspires us all. Together, we spread awareness, show support, and pledge to continue the fight for a brighter, cancer-free future.
Jeanne was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001. She fought hard with chemotherapy, infusions, lumpectomy, and radical mastectomy until 2014 when she overcame the disease. Jeanne shared, "It's so important to do self-examinations. If you feel anything, go to the Doctor immediately. Mine started as a small, painful lump, and I was soon diagnosed." Thankfully, Jeanne beat cancer and is in remission! She is our survivor, and we are so thankful for her and her fight.
